BeebMaster - Acorn Tesco 6502 Second Processor

Inside, we can see how it all works more clearly.

Having decided to mount the components on the lid, I mounted the power supply on the box lid first having marked the rough positions of the three screws on the lid and then making holes with a skewer. I repeated this for the 6502 board using two BBC Model B keyboard screws and bolts to fix it down. I made sure the two elements were as far apart as possible to prevent anything on the 6502 board touching any of the power supply insides.

The box lid is sturdy but flexible so it did not crack when I was making the screw holes.

From the picture you can see that the board is mounted flush with the near edge of the lid and the power supply is flush with the far edge. This made sure that I had the greatest possible amount of ribbon cable outside the box and that the power supply switch was easy to press.

With the two component parts safely screwed down, I attached two of the power cables from the power supply to the 0v and +5v connectors on the board. I used the longest leads from the power supply - there are two more sets of leads coming from the power supply which I may be able to use for "possible future expansion"!

Perhaps I could add a Z80 board or a 32016 board to make a second processor swapper box!

Following on from the success of the Tesco Cheese Biscuits Second Processor, I am actively seeking a suitable margarine tub for my Uviprom EPROM programmer.
