There's a significant difference in the procedure for preparing a floppy disc for use with the Master 512 DOS Plus system and for Winchester discs. It will become a bit clearer later on, but for now we need the disc we want to use to appear to the Beeb exactly as with any other comparable disc.

So, that means we have to format it.
