Econet Socket Boxes
Socket Boxes provide outlets for connecting Econet Stations to a network. Boxes are wired together internally with suitable network cable to form the network. At each end of the network, a terminator is fitted. Econet terminators take various different forms, and can be seen in more detail here.
Stations are attached to Econet sockets on the boxes with 5-pin DIN leads. As an alternative, a network can be made up of T-pieces instead of socket boxes, which are connected together with Econet DIN leads.
There are two main types of socket boxes, Acorn and SJ Research ones. The SJ Research ones come in two forms, the standard socket box and a special type of split socket box for use with a clock.
