I thought my little home-made adapter deserved a page of its own.
Just a bit of 34-way ribbon cable with a male IDC header connector at each end.
Actually it was terrible trouble to make as the clamp thingy I use to crimp the connectors onto the ribbon cable invariably cracks the male connectors and bends all the pins. It works fine with the female IDC connectors but doesn't like the male ones. No doubt the Equal Opportunities Commission will investigate.
Of course, I could have used a little converter which plugs into an edge connector socket and has a female IDC connector on the other end. I found one of these in an old Amstrad PC but I didn't have it at the time I made my Double Winchester Disc.
