What's New 2009

See below for the latest updates to BeebMaster

24th December 2009 It's the last update of the year, so today I'm having a look at a few procedures for formatting Winchester discs and using the logical copier for backing up over the Econet - you can learn all about Superform and using Logcopy.

Have a great Christmas, and come back in early January for more!
30th November 2009 For today's update, there is a detailed look at the ARM7 Co-Processor in action, which you can see here, as well as another set in my occasional series about the Master 512, this time all about the GEM Applications Suite.
23rd November 2009 It's a bits and pieces update today, an early Master 128 PSU, some ancient Vero packaging and a long-overdue update to my Econet section - the illustrated guide to Level 4 Econet.

Do please take a look at the Level 4 page, because I'm trying out a new navigation feature. Instead of going back to the index page every time to look at the next picture, or having to click the Back and Forwards arrows I sometimes put at the bottom of pages of large picture sets, all you have to do is click on the picture and you'll go to the next one! Ingenious, eh? Well, let me know what you think!.
16th November 2009 It's been a long time but I hope the wait has been worth it! I've been out and about again, in September, to Acorn World, and you can see what I was up to here.

I promise not to leave it so long next time, so please check back soon for the next update! I've got literally thousands of pictures to upload when I get round to it!

In the meantime, I discovered a box of 8271 Disc Upgrade Kits the other week. I thought I'd sold them all, but there they were all the time! I'll be saving a couple for myself but there are still a few left - get them at the BeebShop while you can!
1st August 2009 I need to say a very sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the BeebShop 50% discount sale over the last six weeks. I've earned nearly enough for a new BeebMaster pencil sharpener, and I've been advised that following the flurry of economic activity, the World Recession is now over!

Today's update is a second set of pictures from the Sunday session of "Console Combat", and I hope you will take a look here.
25th July 2009 I'm at "Console Combat" in Manchester this weekend, and you can see the pictures from the first day's 8-bitting here.

Don't forget that there's still a week left on the BeebShop megasale, so please get all your last minute half-price discounts here.

Come back soon for Sunday's Console Combat!
15th June 2009 50,000 HITS!

A real milestone today! We didn't quite make it in time for my birthday, but just six weeks on and I've crashed through the next barrier! It wouldn't be a milestone update without the customary thanks to everyone who has visited BeebMaster over the years. I hope you've found something of interest, or even of use, and I'd love to hear from you about your Beebing past or present!

Occasionally I mention to people how many hits I received since the site started, but sometimes this information is met with less than effervescent enthusiasm. I think it's worth saying that my hit counter only records unique visitors to the site, not individual page loads. If I included all the page loads, then the total would be well over 155,000.

Another cheese wedge for today's update - I've had this for a very long time but it's only now seeing the light of day. Please click here to see more of my second Acorn Econet Bridge.

I've also done a rare Domesday update, to bring some bigger, better pictures of the internal 65C102 co-processor which now lives inside my Domesday Machine. You can see more here.

It's not escaped my attention that my Acorn Letters section is one of my most neglected sections - it's been over four years since there has been an update, and there are still quite a few letters to upload. I've made a start by putting up the first two letters from 1992, and I hope you will take a look here. I hope it won't be another four years before I get round to the next few!

Finally, I've decided to reward everyone who has visited me over the last six years and six weeks with a special discount sale at the BeebShop. The sale is going to last until the end of July, so please grab a bargain here!

It's that time of year again, and what have I been doing since the last update? Well, first of all I went to the RISC-OS Wakefield show last month, which was a great day out and came with an unexpected and very exciting Domesday Discovery - you can read all about it here.

You may remember reading about the Byte-Back Bonanza from the last update. Well, as it's my birthday I thought I'd let you see all the bonanza items, which you can take a look at here.

Don't forget to have a rummage round the site and check out my Non Acorn pages as well!
23rd March 2009 Gosh, how time flies when you're having fun! It's already a month since the last BeebUpdate, and I've certainly been having fun! I was at Byte-Back a couple of weeks ago, and you can see all about my activities in Stoke-on-Trent here.
23rd February 2009 Well, we're seven weeks into the new year already, so it's time for another update. Today I am continuing with the next picture set in my Master 512 series, all about the GEM Applications Suite, which you can see here.

During the weekend of 7th and 8th March, I will be attending Byte-Back in Stoke-on-Trent. I hope some of you will be able to come along, as it promises to be a great weekend for all 8-bit computer fans. I've heard that there's only a limited number of tickets left, so if you do want to join in, please book your ticket right away! You can find out more information about the event and ticket prices from the Byte-Back website here.
1st January 2009 Happy new year!

I have high hopes for 2009: I'm just about to reach 45,000 hits and I hope that we'll get to the 50,000 mark before the year is out!

I'm starting 2009 with another set in the Master 512 series. This time it's how to format and verify a floppy disc in DOS Plus, which you can see here.

As you may have seen from my Christmas update, it's amazing what you can find during the annual tidying up session. Here's one such item - a Prism Modem.

Please come back soon for more updates, but before you go, take a look at my other sections.

For previous updates, please see here.
