DFDC means Dual Floppy Disc Controller. It's a small board which fits inside the BBC micro in place of the 8271 controller. The Western Digital 1770 is on board but the 8271 is missing. I'm not sure what the flying lead does, or what other modifications are required to the BBC B motherboard to fit this daughter board.
