Desolder Station

For the very last unit, I decided to put on RJ45 connectors. However, the metal boxed connectors I have been using cause a short with the through-holes for the DIN connector in the same PCB position. This affects the data lines and stops the Econet from transmitting and receiving.

The solution, suggested by Ken Lowe who designed the issue 2 PCB and had experienced this problem himself, is to make sure you insulate the DIN through holes underneath the RJ45 connectors. This involved desoldering the connectors, which I had done by this point, added some insulating tape and I have soldered the first RJ45 connector back on ready for the second.

A relatively successful first use for my desolder station.
