I haven't changed the version of DFS in my new US Beeb to match the one in my original 1990s machine. The version here is DFS 1.00 which has very unhelpful error messages - when there's a disc fault, it doesn't even tell you the sector number at fault.

There isn't anything actually wrong with the disc - which is the Viglen Utilities disc I have been using with my new Beeb - but sadly the replica Viglen floppy drive has a bit of a problem and it will only reliably read on drive 0 discs which it has formatted. The second head, accessing drive 2, doesn't suffer from this problem, so I can run the utilities from there instead.
