If you've followed things from the unwrapping up to this point, then the story so far is that we think it's a US Beeb, it looks like one from the outside, but it looks like it might be a bit German from the inside, and it appears to have dual British and American nationality after switching it on!
The US Beeb, as intended for American use, before conversion back to UK standards, has different screen modes to fit in with the NTSC television standard in America. Mode 1, for instance, uses up less memory and has only 25 lines instead of 32. Let's check.
