During this era (that's 1984 I'm talking about, by the way, not 1976 when the story was first transmitted) it was the practice of BBC Video to issue each title on various different forms of home video at the time, so in addition to the laserdisc version, there were VHS and Betamax video versions.

The running time is 60 minutes, which indicates that quite a bit has been cut from the original 4-part serial. BBC Video insisted on releasing "omnibus" versions of Doctor Who stories at this time, although exactly why they decided to cut out 40 minutes in the process isn't clear to me!
