This is the shoot I did in November 2013 to make the Gold Dalek overlay which featured in the BeebMaster logo on all pages between November 23rd and December 1st, and which has since been a permanent feature of the BeebMaster logo in my Dr. Who section.
I used the white laminated folder (which incidentally is the folder in which I keep all my postage stamps, sticky labels and instruction booklets for BeebShop items) as I hoped that I could get a uniform background colour which I could turn into a transparency so I could overlay the foreground image over the existing logo.
It didn't work, because the Dalek protruberances generated too much shadow, and there were far too many background shades to convert it all to a transparent background. In the end, I had to painstakingly draw around the Dalek image with the GIMP scissors tool so that I could paste it into a blank image with transparent background. After that, it was simple to paste it over the existing BeebMaster logo. I've also saved the Dalek image in the GIMP format and as a GIF for future use.
