Acorn Stacking
FileStore E01S
Econet Clock

With the Stacking FileStore, the clock circuitry is once again underneath the Econet Module, which has shifted slightly to a mid-right position on the board.
The operation of the E01S clock is the same as the E01, with mark and space multiplier settings being selected by jumpers. The Stacking FileStore apparently has a more reliable method for detecting other clocks on the network than its forerunner.
An Econet must only have one clock signal present, otherwise havoc would reign. The FileStore clock is provided really for convenience for smaller networks or unusual situations where an external clock box is not available, but it was never intended to replace the dedicated Econet clock, so the FileStore has the facility to disable its clock if another is detected when it is powered on.
Unfortunately the clock does not disable itself whilst the FileStore is running, so switching on a FileStore and then an external clock box a few minutes later is likely to cause a problem. The way round this is to permanently disable the FileStore clock by removing all the clock jumpers.
