Underneath the familiar cheese wedge box is the serial number and a little button which puts the Bridge into diagnostic mode. I think the Econet Bridge is just about the only Acorn machine which has a self-test function. Hidden from view here, but visible when looking at the underside of an Econet Bridge, is a red LED which flashes when in test mode, between one and eight times to indicate a fault.
