This is the session I set up to display the Ceefax pages on a Teletext TV using my VP406 laserdisc player. The player is being controlled by the Master 128 in the picture, which is running the "status" utility I wrote, being shown on the left-hand monitor.

You might be able to see that "status" reports that there is no Teletext on the disc, which is clearly incorrect. The information is contained in the Disc Status Bytes, which also tell us the disc size and side number and various other pieces of information about the disc being played. Unfortunately, discs as old as this tend not to have Disc Status information encoded on them, so "status" incorrectly interprets the blank data bytes into something meaningful.
