BBC Videodiscs start with a copyright message, shown here. I have also got the Display on, which shows information about the status of the player in the left-hand column.

The right-hand column is blank because there is no disc status information on this laserdisc. Otherwise the right-hand column would show disc size, current side playing, CLV or CAV and sound status.

Although it may look like the copyright message is being displayed over a starry, starry night, this is in fact interference caused by the disc deteriorating.
