This is LVStatus, a utility I wrote to interpret the disc and player status bytes which can be read from the Laserdisc player. I wrote this utility before I had any of the manuals for these Philips VP series players, as a way of trying to interpret what the bytes were telling me.

Disc status bytes are encoded (or not, in the case of some early laserdiscs like this one) on the actual disc, and tell us about the disc size, disc side, chaptering status, and other information. The Player status bytes are maintained by the player itself, and tell us the audio status, disc type and other information.
