When playing a CAV disc, "LVInfo" can detect the playback direction by reading the frame number twice and then comparing the two numbers. Unfortunately, it can't detect the playback speed - this information is not transmitted by the player to the computer in any of the information it provides, and trying to guestimate the playback speed wouldn't succeed due to the time delay in processing commands via the serial link to the player.
