On the opposite side of the road, there is already a sizeable crowd with still an hour to go. I'd been to Blackburn five weeks earlier to suss out the landscape and even then it was being talked about everywhere. Usually nobody knows what is happening until about five minutes before. It has to have been the best advertised regional Royal Visit I've ever been on.
